KIDS HEALTH CARE

We love our kids and want to give them the best kid’s health care we can find. Kid’s health care can be provided by an insurance coverage or by an employer-sponsored plan.
There are also more affordable and even free medical cares which are designed to meet the kid’s medical insurance needs. For kids of low and middle income families, there are Medicaid and CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program). Medicaid offers health care for kids of limited incomes; it is run by states with a mix of state and federal funding. CHIP is a kid’s care health insurance, which is funded by the federal government that each State administers. CHIP is often helpful for families with incomes too high for Medicaid, but who are still uninsured.
Kid’s health care can also be provided in local community health center, where kids can have check-ups, immunizations, treatment when they're sick, dental care, prescription drugs, and mental health care.
School kid’s health care is also very important because kids spent a lot of time away from parents during the school year. It is then very important that kids get medical care when parents can’t be reached.
Generally, the consent of the parents is needed for treatment. In case of injury or illness occurring at school, healthcare providers can treat without getting permission, because consent of the parents is implied by the medical emergency. In general, school officials are allowed to take medical decisions for kids in their care, including emergency decisions as well as nonemergency medical care. A school representative is allowed to seek nonemergency treatment for a child if parents are unavailable.
Often, this means a teacher or administrator, with no medical training, will decide where, when and if your child goes to the hospital or gets an ambulance.
It is then very important for parents to give all useful information to the school, such as any allergies, chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes or epilepsy. As parents, we do everything we can to protect our children, and that includes giving them the best kids’ healthcare possible.
