WOMEN HEALTH CARE

Health is a primordial concern for all women. Women health care takes a very important place in the society given the importance of roles taken by women, and especially given the health issues that only affects women. Women’s health care deals with women’s health issues.
There is much to do to protect women’s health. Routine visits with a women’s health care provider can help prevent sickness and can find problems that may need treatment. Pelvic exams, Pap tests, and screenings for breast cancer are all vital health care needs for women. And for women with abnormal Pap test results, tests and treatments used to prevent cervical cancer —colposcopy, cryotherapy, and LEEP — can save lives. Women’s health care also deals with sexual health matters such as abortion, birth control, pregnancy and STDs.
A women health care center is a place providing dedicated health care to women such as gynecological care. So the gynecologic services a women health care can provide include: annual exams and PAP testing; treatment for fibroids and pelvic disorders; hormonal balance assessments; menopause evaluations and treatments, including alternative therapies; sexually transmitted disease (STD) risk assessment, testing, and treatment; rapid testing for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and counseling; an oral specimen collection device; HIV test results in 20 minutes. There are also obstetric services including: walk-in pregnancy testing and options counseling; prenatal care, including high risk specialty obstetrical care; individual nutritional and WIC programs; psychosocial counseling services; fertility testing and diagnosis; tubal ligations; specialty clinics, including adolescent obstetrics.
Breast health is also a major concern for women’s health care. Some breast health care centers offer services including: diagnostic imaging, breast MRI, breast ultrasound, ultrasound guided breast biopsies, and stereo tactic breast biopsies.
They generally provide services for people who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and other breast conditions, or those concerned about their risk of developing the disease based on strong family history. Some organizations like Women Health Care Associates offer services dealing with all aspects of women health: obstertrics, gynecology, nurse midwifery, perinatal, pregnancy, breast health, heart disease and stroke, obesity, osteoporosis, plastic surgery, and sport injuries.
